Excellence Award to sculptor Park Eun Sun
Versilia is not a land of conquest but a place where many personalities have left art, inspiration and heart. On Friday at 8 pm at the Grand Hotel Imperiale the 1st Versilia Excellence Prize will be awarded to the Korean sculptor Parl Eun Sun: the recognition, which after a few years of hiatus starts again in the wake of the then Versilia Prize, is organized by the volcanic Sergio Marrai and the group of friends of Tennis Italia of which he is the owner. The event is conceived from the desire to celebrate and thank those high profiles of contemporaneity – in the artistic, cultural and entrepreneurial fields – who by choosing Versilia as a privileged place to live and create, have offered an essential contribution “to determine the excellence of a territory that owes much to its adopted fellow citizens”. The first edition of the Excellence Award pays homage to Park Eun Sun, an acclaimed Korean sculptor, one of the most renowned artists on an international level, who for thirty years has chosen this territory as the fulcrum of his creativity. The evening will begin at 20 with a convivial welcome aperitif; at 9 pm dinner and at 10 pm the award ceremony with the mayor Bruno Murzi who will deliver the Murano glass sculpture to the artist. About 100 guests are expected, mostly entrepreneurs from the shipbuilding, hotel, marble, nursery and real estate sectors.
